AXELERA Technologies introduces advanced 3D-4X Joystick for eVTOLs

AXELERA Technologies, a US-based company specialising in developing advanced control systems for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, law enforcement, and defence markets, has recently unveiled its latest product, the 3D-4X Omnidirectional Joystick.

The joystick offers a streamlined one-hand control solution, enhancing precision and ease of use for pilots in demanding environments.

Streamlined control for critical operations

It enables seamless control of complex systems, such as vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) vehicles and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

With its design focused on the precise manoeuvring required for eVTOL aircraft, along with meeting the rigorous demands of defence and law enforcement operations, the joystick is positioned as an ideal tool for these sectors.

Alejandro Madrid, Chief Technology Officer at AXELERA Technologies, emphasised that the joystick’s versatility is key to its appeal.

“This isn’t just about ease of use for eVTOLs—it’s about giving military and law enforcement personnel the ability to control multiple devices with one joystick, streamlining operations and improving efficiency in high-pressure situations,” he noted.

Furthermore, the joystick is designed to integrate multiple functions into a single device, making it adaptable to a variety of systems, from aircraft to ground-based tactical devices.

This, according to the company, is expected to reduce training time and simplify operations in fast-paced environments where quick response times are essential.

Justin Spear, a business consultant and project developer recently appointed by AXELERA Technologies, is overseeing the joystick’s introduction into military and law enforcement markets.

Spear, who has experience in launching scalable programmes, is focused on expanding the joystick’s presence in these sectors.

“Our joystick is not only about simplifying piloting; it’s about redefining how aircraft are controlled in critical environments,” Spear commented. “From defence to entertainment, we are bringing the next level of precision and ease to aircraft operation.”

The release of the 3D-4X joystick comes as AXELERA Technologies continues to make strides in the air mobility and defence sectors, with the company aiming to provide advanced solutions for a range of mission-critical environments.
