AAM Institute to host vertiport planning and design training workshop in Abu Dhabi
Amid the rapid advancements in the urban air mobility (UAM), Advanced Air Mobility Institute (AAM Institute) in collaboration with LYNEports, is set to host a hands-on workshop on Vertiport Planning and Design at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi from November 19 to 21.
The multi-day event will provide in-depth training on the latest developments in advanced air mobility (AAM) and vertiport infrastructure.
Furthermore, it will feature hands-on sessions led by industry experts, including Dan Sloat, Founder and President of AAMI, and Rasha Alshami, Founder and CEO of LYNEports.
Attendees will gain valuable insights into vertiport planning, safety regulations, and the application of LYNEports’ state-of-the-art software for vertiport modelling and operational planning.
Comprehensive vertiport training
In addition, the course will introduce participants to the fundamentals of vertiports, emphasising the development of eVTOL aircraft, operational classifications, and regulatory frameworks.
Participants will also explore the distinctions between heliports and vertiports, with a focus on the safety considerations and regulations essential to their design and operation.
Beyond theoretical knowledge, the training will emphasise hands-on experience using LYNEports’ proprietary software.
Participants will engage in exercises such as modelling vertiports, evaluating site suitability, simulating weather conditions, and planning flight routes.
The software exercises will include simulations of weather impacts, flight routes, and airspace integration, offering real-world insights into the complexities of UAM.
Furthermore, safety is a cornerstone of the training, with dedicated sessions on fire safety at vertiports, charging capacity for eVTOLs, and considerations for icing and de-icing in urban environments.
Finally, the programme will explore the integration of hydrogen infrastructure at vertiports and airports, and discuss operational considerations such as downwash and outwash wind effects, noise mapping, and community acceptance to ensure a holistic understanding of the factors influencing vertiport and eVTOL operations.
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate from LYNEports and AAMI, validating their expertise in vertiport design and AAM.
Furthermore, they will have one month of free access to LYNEports software following the training, allowing them to continue honing their skills and exploring advanced vertiport planning techniques.
