Multi Level Group subsidiary to launch the UAE’s first trial vertiport
The Advanced Mobility Hub (AMH), a subsidiary of Multi Level Group, has recently announced plans to launch the UAE’s first trial vertiport in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant step forward in the country’s commitment to sustainable and autonomous transport.
Supported by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council, the initiative reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a leader in next-generation mobility.
Simultaneously, AMH is advancing self-driving technology by conducting autonomous vehicle trials at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal in Port Zayed.
According to Mohamed Salah, CEO of Multi Level Group, the vertiport will offer aerial tours over iconic landmarks and provide new experiences for cruise passengers and tourists.
“This project reflects Abu Dhabi’s drive for sustainable, innovative solutions in transportation,” he noted.
Furthermore, with regulatory approvals already secured, the vertiport project aims to establish a comprehensive framework for autonomous, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, designed for both passenger and logistical applications.
Boosting tourism with innovation
As part of this broader initiative, Multi Level Group and AD Ports Group have signed an agreement to develop the operational environment needed for autonomous transport in Abu Dhabi.
Noura Rashed Al Dhaheri, CEO of Cruise Business at AD Ports Group, noted that the vertiport would enhance the cruise tourism experience with eco-friendly travel options, appealing to environmentally conscious travellers.
“We are always looking for new opportunities and creative ideas to increase our efficiency and excellence,” said Al Dhaheri.
“We are keen to provide our customers with the most enjoyable experiences in an environmentally friendly manner as part of our endeavour to promote sustainability. With the presence of technology, which can draw new horizons for cruises, we are pleased to be one of the pioneers in the development of the cruise sector and its supporting services.”
Moreover, the vertiport’s impact extends beyond tourism. Multi Level Group has signed a collaboration agreement with ADNOC, AD Ports Group, and e& to explore the potential for using eVTOLs in transport logistics.
The partnership focuses on reducing operational costs and carbon emissions within the petroleum services sector, both on land and at sea.
“The signing of this agreement marks a pivotal step in promoting innovation in the air transport sector, using autonomous aircraft to deliver advanced logistics solutions,” said Abdulla Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Mobility.
