Autocraft unveils eVTOL air taxi concept at Abu Dhabi Air Expo
Autocraft, a subsidiary of Kintsungi and a leader in advanced air mobility (AAM), has recently introduced its revolutionary electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) air taxi concept, the E20, at the Abu Dhabi Air Expo.
The E20+ has been designed to redefine urban air mobility with its focus on zero-emission propulsion and advanced connectivity features, aligning with the UAE’s forward-thinking ambitions in technology and transportation.
According to Autocraft, the name itself carries profound meaning.
The “E” stands for Electric, emphasising the clean energy propulsion system, and Elevate, underscoring the company’s mission to improve how people experience time through innovative transportation.
Meanwhile, the “20+” symbolises infinite growth.
Redefining urban mobility
Speaking at the unveiling, Sean Teo, Managing Director of Kintsugi, said, “The Autocraft EVTOL represents more than just a vehicle; it embodies our commitment to redefining urban mobility with a focus on progress and efficiency.”
He added, “Unveiling this concept in Abu Dhabi, a city renowned for its visionary leadership, shows how the UAE is leading the charge in air mobility innovation. This is more than a new mode of transport—it’s a movement towards a future where we elevate the way people travel—quietly, efficiently, and seamlessly.”
The project aligns with the UAE’s broader vision to become a global hub for innovation and advanced technologies.
Tareq AlBannay, Vice President of Future Systems at Kintsugi, also emphasized the significance of the EVTOL project.
“This unveiling is not just a technical achievement; it reflects the UAE’s unwavering drive for innovation,” said AlBannay. “We are incredibly proud that the Autocraft eVTOL will be designed and developed right here in the UAE. It symbolises our commitment to pioneering a limitless future of mobility—one that aligns perfectly with the UAE’s vision of progress and leadership in air mobility.”
Furthermore, earlier this month, Dubai began construction on its first aerial taxi vertiport, marking a significant step in the city’s push toward advanced air mobility.
Situated near Dubai International Airport (DXB), the 3,100-square-meter facility is designed to accommodate up to 42,000 landings and 170,000 passengers annually. The initial rollout will include stations at key locations such as Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah, with services expected to commence in 2026.
