Eve Air Mobility, Signature Aviation partner to advance eVTOL ground operations
Embraer spin-off, Eve Air Mobility (Eve), has recently partnered with the world’s largest network of private aviation terminals and a leader in aviation hospitality, Signature Aviation.
The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on researching ecosystem requirements and developing the ground services necessary for safe, efficient, and scalable advanced air mobility (AAM) operations.
The alliance will also explore potential future commercial partnerships under the agreement.
“Following the rollout of our first full-scale eVTOL prototype, we continue to build on that momentum and are looking forward to teaming with Signature Aviation to support eVTOL operations,” said Luiz Mauad, vice president of Services, Operations Solutions, Strategic Design & Ecosystem at Eve Air Mobility.
He added, “Eve and Signature will leverage the companies’ combined global presence and experience in servicing aircraft and creating seamless passenger experiences. Signature Aviation’s insight into ground services needs, local knowledge, private aviation terminal operations and passenger services will inform the procedures and ecosystem needed to accelerate preparations for eVTOLs to launch and scale.”
On his part, Derek DeCross, chief commercial officer at Signature Aviation, highlighted the transformative potential of the collaboration.
“The announcement of our partnership with Eve adds to a transformative year for Signature, while also reinforcing our commitment to shaping the future of aviation through our sustainability initiatives,” he said.
“We’re always looking ahead to create and deliver exceptional experiences for our guests, and working towards the most comprehensive ground infrastructure for eVTOL aircraft is a major part of that mission. This collaboration will bring together our experience, resources, and creativity to find the most effective path towards innovative, safe, and scalable ground operations for advanced air mobility,” DeCross added.
Exploring commercial partnerships
In addition, the companies have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for Eve’s urban air traffic management software, Vector.
This agnostic software solution is designed to address the unique challenges of air traffic and network management for current and future AAM operations.
According to Eve, customers will soon have the opportunity to test and trial the operational version of the software, which aims to enable reliable and efficient fleet and vertiport operations as the market continues to evolve.
Eve is also making strides in supporting the burgeoning eVTOL industry with its recently launched aftermarket services portfolio, Eve TechCare.
It offers a comprehensive suite of solutions for urban air mobility operations, including technical support, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, parts and battery solutions, training services, and flight operation solutions.
Eve currently holds the industry’s largest backlog, with letters of intent for 2,900 eVTOL aircraft, representing a potential $14.5 billion in revenue from 30 customers across 13 countries.
Moreover, the company continues to strengthen its global partnerships.
At the Future Aviation Forum held in Riyadh this May, it partnered with Saudia Technic, the engineering arm of the Saudia group, to explore eVTOL maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) opportunities in the region.
