“Eve Partners with UrbanV, VertiMob, PRS Aeroportos For ANAC’s Regulatory Sandbox”
Eve Air Mobility announced this week a partnership with PRS Aeroportos, UrbanV and VertiMob Infrastructure, as part of a regulatory sandbox for vertiports, organised by the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC), reports a press release.
The release explains, “This sandbox project, set to run for two years, provides an environment for the companies to develop innovative solutions for vertiports. Areas of focus encompass key regulations including physical infrastructure capacity, fire-fighting systems, aircraft noise requirements, and access control measures.”
It continues, “The collaboration will also address aircraft landing and take-off layouts, final approach and departure trajectories, and maintenance and support facilities.”
Eve is to apply its experience as an eVTOL manufacturer to improve aircraft performance. The company will share insights on best practices for operations including pre-flight checks and standard procedures. Also, Eve is working to evolve the commercialisation of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) by shaping the range of future services offered at vertiports.
Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve, commented, “We are deeply committed to shaping and integrating into the wider AAM industry. Our collaboration in ANAC’s regulatory sandbox is a clear demonstration of this. The partnership allows us to address all aspects of the industry, from vertiport infrastructure to eVTOL operations, in alignment with the standards and expectations of global regulatory agencies.”

ANAC recently published the final airworthiness criteria for Eve’s eVTOL, marking an important step towards type certification. The publication opens the door for Eve to define the means of compliance for its eVTOL. The company continues to work closely with the agency to secure the Type Certificate (TC) and validate the TC with the U.S FAA.
Meanwhile, Eve has conducted Concept of Operations (CONOPs) studies in various global cities, including Rio de Janeiro, Chicago and London. These CONOPs outline the vision, key considerations, operational needs for eVTOLs, and user journeys, as well as services and support.
