Terra Drone, Aramco partner to advance drone and AI technologies in Saudi energy sector
Japan-based drone and advanced air mobility (AAM) solutions provider, Terra Drone Corporation (Terra Drone), recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s leading energy and chemicals company, Aramco.
The agreement marks a significant step toward integrating advanced drone, robotics, and AI-driven technologies tailored for the oil and gas industry.
The MoU sets the stage for a deeper collaboration between the two companies across research and development (R&D), technology trials, training programmes, and localised operations.
It also aligns closely with the kingdom’s strategic goals for economic diversification and innovation, as outlined in Vision 2030.
“This MOU is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to innovation and localisation, in partnership with Aramco,” said Toru Tokushige, Founder and CEO of Terra Drone Corporation.
“Through Terra Drone Arabia, we will deliver advanced drone solutions that not only boost operational performance but also build local capability through collaborative R&D and workforce development.”
Furthermore, the agreement follows Terra Drone’s strategic investment from Wa’ed Ventures in 2023, which enabled the establishment of Terra Drone Arabia.
This local entity is focused on three core objectives: the short-term localisation of drone services, the long-term development of local R&D and manufacturing capabilities, and the creation of high-quality employment opportunities for Saudi talent.
