Archer Reports Q1 2025 Results, UAE Launch On Track For This Year

The US-based electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) manufacturer, Archer Aviation (Archer), has released its first-quarter 2025 financial results, highlighting a strong cash position of more than $1 billion and reaffirming that its commercial launch in the United Arab Emirates remains on schedule.

The company continues to advance both its civil and defense initiatives while building key partnerships in technology and aviation.

For the quarter ending March 31, Archer reported GAAP operating expenses of $144 million and a GAAP net loss of $93.4 million. On a non-GAAP basis, operating expenses were $113.1 million, and Adjusted EBITDA stood at a loss of $109 million.

The company stated that its Q1 spending landed within the guided range.

Looking ahead to the second quarter of 2025, Archer expects its Adjusted EBITDA loss to range between $100 million and $120 million. Due to the unpredictability of certain items, including stock-based compensation, the company said it is not providing a reconciliation to GAAP estimates at this time.

“Archer’s pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and reshaping the future of aviation for years to come,” said Adam Goldstein, Archer’s founder and CEO.

“This quarter, the team made strong progress across our civil and defense efforts as we continue to deepen our strategic partner relationships and prepare for commercialization in the UAE later this year.”

UAE Midnight Aircraft Launch Set For Later This Year

One of the company’s major milestones this year remains its entry into the UAE market. Archer confirmed that it will deliver its first piloted Midnight aircraft to the region this summer, with full deployment expected later in 2025.

As part of this process, Archer has also secured design approval for the first hybrid heliport in the UAE, located in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE deployment is part of Archer’s broader plan to launch services in early-adopter markets where infrastructure and regulatory support for eVTOL aircraft are rapidly evolving.

“Launch Edition” Customers Include Abu Dhabi Aviation, Ethiopian Airlines

Archer’s “Launch Edition” program also gained momentum this quarter with the announcement of its first two customers: Abu Dhabi Aviation and Ethiopian Airlines. The program is designed to serve as a blueprint for commercializing the Midnight aircraft in strategic markets by developing a repeatable and pragmatic deployment model.

In addition, Archer is investing in future-facing aviation software through a new partnership with Palantir Technologies. Together, the companies plan to build artificial intelligence capabilities to support the next generation of aviation systems and operational platforms.

In the US, Archer recently co-hosted an event in New York City with United Airlines to outline plans for an air taxi network connecting Manhattan to regional airports.

The proposed Midnight flights would cut down travel times from one to two hours by car to just 5–15 minutes by air, offering a significant time-saving alternative to congested ground routes.
