Ajman Transport Authority, Skyports To Explore Air Taxi Infrastructure

The Ajman Transport Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Skyports Infrastructure, a vertiport developer, to explore potential collaboration in the field of smart aerial transport, including air taxi services.

The agreement was signed by H.E. Omar Mohammed Lootah, Director General of the Ajman Transport Authority, and Mr. Daniel O’Neill, General Manager of Skyports Middle East.

The partnership marks a strategic move toward enhancing the emirate’s transport infrastructure by integrating intelligent and future-ready mobility solutions.

Focus on Research, Infrastructure & Operational Readiness

As part of the MoU, both parties will cooperate on several areas including research and studies related to smart aerial transport infrastructure.

The agreement also covers the identification of suitable locations for essential facilities and efforts to enhance technical and operational preparedness in the sector.

H.E. Omar Mohammed Lootah noted that the MoU supports the Authority’s broader vision to adopt innovative transport systems that contribute to Ajman’s transformation into a smart city.

He emphasized the importance of working with international leaders to help develop a safe, sustainable, and advanced mobility network for the emirate.

Daniel O’Neill expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to work alongside Ajman Transport Authority, stating that the agreement represents a valuable opportunity to support the deployment of advanced aerial mobility technologies.

He also highlighted the importance of aligning future infrastructure developments with the General Civil Aviation Authority’s newly issued vertiport regulations.
